I am a yoga instructor with close to 20 years of teaching experience. Yoga has been one of the most important transformative forces in my life and I am enthusiastic about sharing its physical, emotional, and spiritual benefits with you.
The first book I ever read about yoga (Moving into Stillness, by Erich Schiffman) sparked my interest and the more I read about yoga, the more the "spark" turned into a flame and ignited my passion. I enrolled in my first 200-hour teacher training at Devotion Yoga Studio in Hoboken, NJ, where I studied with Jillian Pransky and Carrie Parker-Gastelu and became certified in Vinyassa (flow) yoga.
Once I was certified, I dived into making this wonderful opportunity available to others. I began teaching in a variety of settings, including Saddle Brook High school, where faculty members were able to recharge and renew following a long day in the classroom, and Bank of America, where tellers and managers took a break from numbers and dollar signs to chant and exercise. I began teaching in other out-of-the-box venues, including Veritas Institute for Medical Education and Bayonne Hospital. Of course, I also taught and offered workshops in more traditional yoga settings, yoga studios, and health clubs.
All the while, I continued acquiring new skills and learning new approaches. I have an advanced certification in LifeForce Yoga, Yoga for Arthritis, and Sound Healing. I have advanced specialized training in Yoga for Seniors.
One of the highlights of my life was completing a 500-hour training with the legendary yoga sage and master, Sri Dharma Mittra. I am honored to have studied with him and I feel privileged to continue attending classes at his center.
As you can see, yoga is my passion. It is my joy to offer it to everyone, from children to seniors, from beginners to more advanced students. I aim to make my classes uplifting and physically rejuvenating, as well as friendly and supportive. I create an atmosphere of safety, warmth, and openness where you can experiment with new ways of experiencing the world and yourself.
Beyond my love of yoga, I love chanting and vegan cooking. I am eager to share these interests with you through yogic purification workshops that integrate yoga, music and sound, and breathing/meditation with delicious vegan, raw foods.
