Samadhi for Seniors
I am very excited to offer Samadhi for Seniors, a new program that is very dear to my heart.
Here in the US, aging can be a stressful. Seniors often feel out of place in our youth-oriented society, often feeling out of touch with the realities of today’s fast-paced high-tech world.
In India, growing older is viewed differently. Older people are venerated for their wisdom and life experience. Old age is viewed as a wonderful opportunity to fully pursue spirituality without householder's responsibilities.
Samadhi is the traditional goal of yoga, which refers to the integration of our personal self with Spirit, however we understand that.
Samadhi for Seniors is a program to allow seniors to engage in intense spiritual practice, with a goal of attaining Samadhi. This unique program includes:
- Asanas (yoga postures) modified for seniors, whether frail or active
- Pranayama (yogic breathing techniques)
- Intense meditation
- Mantra Japa (yogic chanting)
- Mood yoga
- Sound healing
- Yoga Nidra (deep conscious relaxation)
- Vegan lunches
The program will take place in my Teaneck-based studio and/or the comfort and privacy of your own home.
