In the Jewish tradition, kavannah is the spiritual practice of fully focusing one's soul at the task at hand. It is the art of cultivating deep intention.

Kavannah Yoga fosters your intention for healing and growth through a unique combination of focused yogic and other spiritual techniques

​Techniques include yoga postures (Asana), breathing practices (Pranayama), hand movements (Mudras), and meditation. Certain classes also incorporate chanting, sound healing, and yogic sleep training.

At Kavannah Yoga, all students are welcome. We particularly invite those who may have felt unwelcome or uneasy in other yoga classes. This includes men, seniors, those with arthritis, and those with challenging physical or mental health conditions.

About Howard Katz

Howard is a yoga instructor with 20 years of teaching experience. Yoga has been one of the most important and transformative forces in his life. He is passionate about sharing its physical, emotional, and spiritual benefits with others, especially those for whom yoga has seemed foreign or intimidating. 

Howard is certified in Vinyasa yoga and completed a 500-hour training with the legendary yoga master, Sri Dharma Mittra. He has advanced training in Yoga for Arthritis, LifeForce Yoga, Yoga for Seniors, Sound Healing, and Gravity Yoga.

Howard is also passionate about vegan cooking, and offers yogic purification workshops that integrate yoga, music and sound, and meditation with delicious vegan, raw foods.
